We’re your hosts, J.R. and Anthony. We want our listeners to be informed of not only the standard rules for investing but how to invest based on the uncertain world around us. Meet J.R.: J.R. Rotchford joined his family’s business, Rotchford & Associates, in 1998 after serving in the U.S. Air Force, graduating from ASU and working for a newspaper and then an elevator company for a short period of time. He has experienced the peaks and valleys of the financial services industry for going on a quarter of a century now.

Meet Anthony: In 2018, Anthony Carrao became the 4th generation of the family business after leaving behind a career as an Industrial Engineer. Anthony now uses his knowledge base in strategic planning and cost savings initiatives for individuals and families to better their financial situations, instead of saving millions for large corporations.

Get set for another hour of the latest financial information and economic news affecting your bottom line. J.R. and Anthony are committed to helping more Americans like you optimize their inc. Reduce their tax risk and reach financial freedom. So let's start the show. Here are your hosts, Anthony Correo and J.R. rochford. [00:00:42] Speaker C: Here we are, Junior Rochford and the one and only Sam Davis, taking a break from our day to day as a financial advisor and a producer extraordinaire. We realize the last thing you need is another money show, but we appreciate you being here, don't we, Sam? [00:00:58] Speaker D: We absolutely do. And you know, Junior, I was struggling getting ready for the show this week because I wasn't sure we were going to be able to come up with enough to talk about today. [00:01:07] Speaker C: No, no. It's going to be kind of a quiet week. And obviously if you're a loyal listener, you know that usually it's Junior and Anthony, but we've decided to fire Anthony. I'm not sure that he contributes enough to the show to keep on board. So Sam fired him. I didn't want to because I'm still his stepfather, but Sam let him go. So Anthony is no more. And yes, of course, I'm kidding. Anthony is in Texas. So apparently he lost a bet or did something wrong in a previous life, I'm not sure. But he's in Texas, so he'll be back next week. So this week, basically working on the outline, there wasn't much. I mean, obviously, you know, today is the 7th of November, so as you're hearing this, it's either the 8th or 9th thereafter. There's a big gorilla in the room this week. What is everybody talking about? Yes, Sam, you know what we're talking about. So Peanut and Fred, we're going to lead off with the big story of the week. Peanut is an adorable squirrel. He's a social media sensation. Peanut has an Instagram account. Fred, less widely known Fred, is a raccoon. Equally as cute. I have to say, they're both really cute. So. And if you didn't hear this story this past week, basically the government, you know, shockingly, New York is the state in question. They did some sort of a no knock raid prompted by a woman from A different state, complaining about Peanut Fred. And they came in and they ransacked this person's house. I've been watching videos and reading articles because I'm like, this, this whole thing is very, very bizarre. Like, what? You know, how did this go down? But the, the, the bottom line, they were questioning the woman. The owner of Peanut Fred is a man, a woman, and they were questioning her immigration status, apparently, which is weird in this day and age. They did seize Peanut and Fred. Then the story was that Peanut bit one of the officers and they talked about rabies and they euthanized Peanut and Fred. So very sad. I did tell my wife Sandy about Peanut Fred. She hadn't heard about this and she was profoundly sad. You know, I didn't, I didn't tell her everything I've read, but I told her enough. And I'm like, what if somebody did a no knock raid on our home and they came in and they took our dogs? We have three dogs that mean the world. We don't care about each other as much as we all care about our dogs. If somebody took them and then later we heard, oh, one of them bit somebody, which, first of all, that suspect, and they had to euthanize them, that would be life changing. Devastating. And my whole thing is, you know, we're in a country where there is a lot of power with a lot of these government agencies, and I think maybe that was excessive. So. And if you dig into it, I mean, there's a lot of weirdness. I mean, the more I read, the more I had to read. I read that the people that owned Peter and Fred, they had an only fans page. There was some adult video action that they were making a lot of money on. They were making a ton of money with Peanut, his cute little hats and all this stuff. So that's it. I mean, that's pretty much what I have for the week. Anything big in your world, Sam, or how's it going for you? [00:04:21] Speaker D: Well, you know, it's interesting. I did hear about Peanut the Squirrel on a couple of podcasts, and then shortly thereafter, it started to appear on various news feeds that I was watching. I mean, I think Joe Rogan was actually talking to Elon Musk about Peanut the Squirrel at one point, and which is just what a bizarre world we live in. I think they've talked about in elections past, like an October event or something that happens that changes as the course of the election. I feel like Peanut was a very strange and small but not insignificant November event right before the election. [00:04:52] Speaker C: That's funny, I forgot. We have to address that this week too, don't we? There was an election on Tuesday. [00:04:57] Speaker D: Oh, that's right. There was also an election. Yeah. [00:05:00] Speaker C: I mean, I've been really wrapped up. This whole thing with Peanut, I mean, it's as much as the story gets more and more bizarre, it really is sad how out of control things are. The woman, by the way, that turned in Peanut and Fred, apparently she's had tons of death threats. She's had to scrub all her social media accounts. Apparently she's not doing so well. So with the election, I mean, we'll hit it up. I know we're a money show, but I promise you everything political is going to affect your finances. I mean, we talk about the show. We're not an hour long infomercial. We are a show on current events and how they're likely to affect your finances, your life, your future, your kids, your grandkids. We our thing. We want you prepared, not scared. We want you proactive, not reactive. If you're listening to this show, odds are you're having a good week. I think most of our listenership leans a little bit red. They're on the more conservative side. I know we have some listeners that don't. I know that for a fact because I have some people that try to, they try to poke me a little bit. We'll talk about social media later. I've had a few of those lately where people try to goad me into a little fight. So. And a quick shout out. Speaking of listeners, we have a listener in Wisconsin. I, we talked to him about a year ago. I didn't know he was still listening until this week. So if you're listening today, Larry, thank you. I mean, it's so cool and something you may or may not know. Anthony and I can work in different states. We have some clients that are in the military. I mean, nowadays with zoom and everything. So basically we are licensed in Wisconsin and it looks like Larry's decided to become a client. So we appreciate that too. Anybody that's listening to us, anybody that needs our help, we are so excited. So back to this election. I mean, obviously it was a, it was an unusual election. You know, when I, when I've talked for years about the pendulum swinging, you know, it really started swinging hard with Obama. I mean, Obama really, he wanted to fundamentally transform our nation. I mean, he said he set out to do that and I'm fairly certain he accomplished that. And you know, then when you look at Trump, talk about polar opposite, you know, that guy's not a politician. The guy, I mean, just nobody thought he could be president. Then you go to Biden. I mean, I guess we don't have a lot to say about Biden. You know, one thing about Harris losing. Harris losing means Biden lost. Is Biden still here? By the way? I did see one video last night that said Obama and his family have left the country. I'm not sure if that's true. I just don't have time right now to look into it and I don't care. I've heard that nobody's heard from Biden. Apparently this morning, Thursday the 7th, apparently there was this, a little talk from Biden. So you know, about the peaceful transfer of power, which is still yet to be seen. But yeah, I mean, I, this has been a bizarre time. So really, in my opinion, when you look at Harris and you look at Biden, Obama lost. I mean, I'm, I'm one of those tinfall hat conspiracy theorist people. I think that Biden, that, I'm sorry, Obama interchangeable, as you can see. I think Obama had three terms. I really do. I think there was election fraud, you know, the last general election, you know, where are the 15 to 20 million votes that Biden got that didn't show up this time? This is the most passionate of an election I've ever seen. And I would say when the pendulum swung with Obama and then to the complete 180 over to Trump and then back to Obeydon and now to Trump. Holy cow. I mean, talk about whiplash. So, but you know, this, this with Trump being the president again upcoming, that is really, it's kind of bad news for us over at another money show because we bring you problems, we bring you stuff that need, you need to be aware of stuff that potentially you need to get ready for, things that people need to fix. You know, when I say that it's, it's bad for us, it's bad for us, only that things might get quiet. I mean, under those four years, Israel was, was better off. I mean, we didn't, we weren't on the verge of World War Three, as far as I know. We were bringing back manufacturing, we were making our own energy independence, so those things might come back, you know, and so if it's good for the country, in a way, it's bad for us. And I did promise over the last two and a half years that if things get quiet, I'll change, I'll change this show. I'll never change what I think, I'll never change what I think is coming. But I will make the show financial. And don't make me come back there. I mean, I'm threatening you right now. But if we have to, we. If there's nothing wrong for the next four years, we're going to tell you about Roth conversions. We're going to talk about generational wealth transfer. We're going to go like the other commercials. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The other shows. And we're going to talk about financial stuff. So let's talk for a second about Tuesday night. Apparently, Donald Trump won the electoral votes and the popular vote. That is not a normal occurrence. That hasn't happened, what, in 20 years? I mean, that's, that's an unusual situation. I think that more people are, a lot of people that wanted to vote for Trump, they had to be kind of reserved. They had to be kind of quiet. I mean, you know, you feel like a target. Like people can get angry with you and they don't seem to mind vocalizing it. You wear a red MAGA hat out in public and you're taking a chance at somebody saying something new. I would like to say how people would react if you wore a Harris hat, but I've never seen one. I literally have never seen a blue hat with Biden or Harris. I've seen a lot of red hats. So. And you know, one thing I noticed Wednesday morning, Sam, when I drove to the office from the home, I didn't see one single Harrison. How in the heck did all of you people that are between my office near get those signs down so quickly? [00:11:12] Speaker D: That is interesting that you say that, because I have a neighbor where I live and she in. I remember four years ago during the 2020 election, ripping some campaign signs that others had put in my yard out, and which I had no problem with because I didn't put those signs there. She just pulled out the bandit signs that someone else had gone by and put there without asking. And she said that she thought election signs were tacky. Although I noticed this year there was a Harris sign in her yard starting in about September. And when I went to go outside on Wednesday morning, that Harris sign was gone immediately. So quickly. And so it's interesting that you noticed that as well, because from where I'm at, I also saw some of that. [00:11:57] Speaker C: And Harris sign is not tacky, but a 47 sign is what, you know, and I said this a few months ago. I think Anthony got on me because, you know, freedom of speech and all. I don't like that anybody put out signs. I really don't. I mean one, one side of the aisle, the signs didn't grade on my nerves as much, I'll be honest. I mean I'm not trying to be a hypocrite, but everybody's too polarized. The country is too divided. It's not a good time to be making that worse by, by saying, see, to me, putting out a yard sign this year was kind of like poking some in the eye. It was like giving somebody the finger. It was like, see, you know, screw you. And we don't need that. We need to chill. What you said I something you like that I said a few months ago, america chill. America needs to chill. And I still believe that. I mean this stuff with the signs, my take on it, nobody, you know, let's keep certain things of private and when, you know you're going to enrage part of the country, let's not do that. So I didn't like seeing signs out to begin with. You know, a couple, couple things more about the election. When I say that it's bad for Obama, it's bad for George Soros, it's bad for Klaus Schwab. I mean the way the country was going, it certainly we were fundamentally transforming this nation. And now at least for the next four years, some people are saying that Trump is going to have four years, then J.D. vance is going to have eight years. And if we have that kind of time, we're going to change the country back to what it was like. If you love your nation and you want to fundamentally transform it, that doesn't make any sense to me. You might want to better it, you might want to tweak things to make improvements, fundamentally transform. I picture 180 degree opposite of what it's doing. We have problems. Healthcare, borders, politics, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, we have problems in this country, but it's still one of the greatest stories in civilization. We've still had the freedoms that most nations would kill for. Well, and they do whatever they can to get here. So that's a good sign. So as I'm trying to talk, I'm watching the videos that Sam's putting on the border. Now let's jump right into that. There is a little problem these last four years or eight years or whatever. There is something called Trump derangement syndrome. And when I first heard that, I was like, that's catchy, that's cute. You know, a lot of people, Orange man bad, they hate him. You know, and it got more serious over the years. There were clients we have that disowned their kids. And there were kids that wouldn't speak to their parents because orange man good or orange man bad. And so it got more real. Well, this tds, this Trump derangement Syndrome, I. I'm positive it's a real thing. I think it is a mental disorder. When you hate somebody so bad, when your hatred for one man is greater than your love of your country, that's problematic. I started, obviously, because you know me, anybody that listens, I start watching YouTube videos. I start looking for how people are reacting to Tuesday Night. It's insane. Some of it is funny. It's got to be parody. I mean, some of the people that I've watched with their meltdowns, it's got to be parody. I could never in a million years watch an entire episode of the View. It's just not something I can do. I don't like the Mass singer. I really don't want to watch the View. And I'll tell you what, I saw the clips. I just Google searched. Well, I duck, duck, go searched, because I'm not crazy. So I looked up clips from the View the day after the Wednesday, and it's pretty. It's extreme. I mean, these people are a little bit. I think they all have tds, social media. You know, watching the videos that I found, it's been kind of disturbing. So I like to think some of it is just to be, you know, get your 15 minutes of fame. Because some of the meltdowns are insane, you know, and I guess maybe some of it is not, you know, making fun of it, because according to one of the people I follow, there's a channel on YouTube called Starkey Farm. She said that within the 24 hours after Tuesday night's calling of the presidency, she said that over 2,000 people in this country have committed suicide. And not talking about, like, general. They're saying the cause was who is going to be the next president. And I don't know how to vent, verify that. I started searching and I got all kinds of statistics on suicide for 2023, and so far in 2024, there's nothing yet that points out that 2000 people committed suicide in 24 hours after that election being called. But this woman, when she put stuff out, I've tried to poke holes in some of her stuff, and I can't. So I'll be curious. If you literally are going to leave the country because Trump's gonna be the next president, if you literally are going to commit suicide, you have Other problems. There's something else going on. I don't think any of this is worth it. I will tell you that. And the people that are getting on planes, going to other countries, you know, y'all have been saying that. You've been saying that for a long time. So some of you. Rosie O'Donnell. I did watch some Rosie O'Donnell clips. Holy cow, what a train wreck that thing is. So get out. I mean, some of you that have been threatening, get out. So, yes, Sam, I also have heard of people on both sides say they'll leave the country, and yet I don't know of anybody that's left the country. So we will see what happens. So back to social media, which is one of our ten pillars. On social media, I try to be on Instagram, Facebook. I try to keep a presence, only because I'm a small business owner, only because I have a family, only because I want people to know I'm alive and well and out there still and working. I don't want to fight with people. I don't think it's worth it. I have a little bit of a Napoleon complex, a little bit of little man syndrome. I know that about myself. At least. I recognize that. So to me, it's not worth it. There's people that I know, they see differently than me. Don't push me, and I won't push you. And I've had to unfriend five people in the last three days. I don't block people. I mean, if you find out I unfriended you because you don't see me for a while, good for you. I'll block you if you come back and you try to push me again. But I've had people, it's like, my gosh, one thing, I put out a meme I forwarded. I didn't make it up. I'm not smart enough to make my bed. I'm not making memes. I forwarded a cartoon. And I had one guy that I used to ride motorcycles with. He'll know what he's talking about if he hears this. And the only reason he would hear this is just to. To, you know, hate me further. And it was on government and the government intrusion. And he just sprung into the fact that he was a government employee and that what I said was really, really wrong. And he takes it personally. I'm like, I tried to diffuse it. I'm like a scroll on by. It's a cartoon. It's a joke. It's not attacking you. Personally. I wonder if the guy knows. I've been married to a government employee for over 20 years. My wife being a teacher, guess what? She's employed by Arizona State. So I'm. I'm in. But anyway, so that was a little run in. I had, I don't know, last week or the week before this. Last few days, it's. People like saying to me, you know, I hope you're happy. You know, there's going to be people dying over this, and we're going to lose our rights. You know, you spend years saying how evil somebody is. You compare somebody to Adolf Hitler, who in the right mind, looking at history, would not kill Adolf Hitler before he rose to the power he had. I mean, how do you think this is going to end? And I've had people poking me saying that, you know, like, this is, you know, we're all going to die over this. Well, we're not. We're going to get through this. I'm kind of hoping we're better off because of these changes. But anyway, social media, be careful. I mean, try to. Try to avoid it maybe for the while, try to be nice. I mean, I do think people can have different opinions. I've got a guy that I see every Friday, guy that I know. His name is Ted. I highly doubt Ted has ever heard my radio show. We see things completely opposite. You know what, though? He's funny, he's nice. He's good to me. I mean, this guy, we do fine. We know each other's politics. So guess what we choose to do? We. We choose to keep it either real light and airy or we don't address it. And that just seems smart. You know, my wife being a teacher, Wednesday morning following the election, I guess, you know, some kids were talking about it, and I will not give you specifics. I. She asked me not to, but some of it was like, you know how the country's in trouble. These are kindergarten kids she was talking about. So kindergarten kids, your parents, who obviously are in their 20s. They're young. They're young. They've only known this kind of political division. So I give them a pass. But, holy cow, you're going to raise generations that came through Covid and didn't understand that you could actually touch your relative. We're going to have generations that politically think this country is evil and racist and wrong. It's what we make of it. This country is what we make of it. If you try to get rid of history, if you tear down statues, that doesn't change the past. It doesn't change history, who's ever in office. Maybe we can learn from things, but we can't. We can't just keep running with this hatred. It's not going to end well. Should I take a breath? So, speaking of not ending well, I do want to address a few things that are upcoming. So Donald Trump gets inaugurated on the 20th of January, today again is the 7th of November. You do realize, I mean, I watched like everybody else, I watched the markets skyrocket. I watched precious metals plummet the following day. You do realize we have two and a half months before he's in office. I know, I know. This week he's working at, you know, he's assembling his cabinet, he's getting his people in place. Hopefully there he makes better choices than he did his first go around because talk about a lot of backstabbers. But anyway, so we have a lot of time. What could transpire between now and January 20th? I mean, is there going to be chaos? You know what's been really quiet the last four years? Blm, Antifa. You know, the people that put bricks in cities in preparation for fun. I did see there was some unrest after the World Series. When LA won the World Series, there was some unrest. What if this week, people on the Harris team are in shock, but as it gets closer to January 20th, what if they're planning right now to make chaos? It is a totally different world than it was on January 6, 2020. It's a totally different world than when Trump came in the first time. This could get real serious. I mean, things could get very weird, you know, Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Detroit, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, Louisiana. I'm looking at all you big cities. Do I think it would ever spill out of the cities and get to the suburbs? It would have to be real big. It would have to be very, very sketchy. Could it happen? Absolutely. I mean, you've got people on edge, you know, you've got people that are really, really hateful towards the other side, and that's, that's dangerous. But we need to watch ourselves for the next two and a half months. I'm telling people, you know, when we had Dave Hodges on and he said that he's not really worried about the election as much as he is between the election and the inauguration. I see that. You know, I've been saying for years, everything I see with the financial markets, everything seems like the calm before the storm. I mean, this has been quiet so far. There was a little bit of unrest Wednesday night, I guess so. But hey, you know, make sure you watch yourself if you're out and about. So let's see, what else? Oh, I was talking to my youngest son, Jay, on Wednesday. I know he listens. He can hear if he's home when I'm recording. I know he's heard parts of the show. He's not a loyal listener, so shame on him. If I can't get my only my family to listen, how am I going to get strangers? Well, luckily, strangers care about me more, so. But anyway, Jay, the first thing he said Wednesday morning, he said to me, does this mean I'm not going to be drafted? And I was like, holy cow, where did you get that? And I was like, oh, me? You know, conscription. I've talked about the draft. Well, the government has been working on the draft again. They're doing it quietly, but they're working on it. So he's heard me say that, and now he wants to know if he's not going to get drafted. I was like, jay, I don't know. I said, this, this, your chances are a lot less now. I mean, we should be safer now than we were a week ago. But it's just weird how people have different thoughts on how this is going to play out. And it kind of made me sad because I'm like, there's no way in this world that I want you drafted. You know, my older son corrected me, I've been saying Nicholas because his name is Nicholas. And I was trying to protect the innocent from having their name used on the radio show. He said, please call me Nick. So anyway, if you're listening, Nick, Nick is already in the military. He's in Japan at Kadena Air Base. I would like him to get out of there. I would like him to go home to Oklahoma or come here to Arizona. So. But yeah, no, the military, the draft, I think everything is going to be different the next four years than if the direction went differently on Tuesday. With that said, we need to take a break. We can come back. Sam, I want to get you involved. I want to hear your thoughts on the election, local, national, but let's take a break. Thanks for being here. [00:28:11] Speaker C: Welcome back to Another Money Show. Thank you so much for being here. Anthony is out of town, but we have Sam Davis with us. Thank you very much, Sam, for being with me. So Sam brought up they have about 10 weeks to ram stuff through. What, what are your thoughts on that, Sam? What, what do you think might happen with the current administration? [00:28:58] Speaker D: The folks in the Democratic Party are now faced with they just lost the White House, they lost the Senate majority and it's not looking good on the House either. Meanwhile, you have some aging Supreme Court justices possibly could have one or maybe two resign over the next four years and those get replaced, which would give the conservatives the majority control of the Supreme Court for the foreseeable future because those are, they don't serve terms. They serve for life until they resign. Yeah. Or, or they pass away. Which that, you know, it's one or the other. So you also have Trump rejoining the White House. And I think for his first term, it was a surprise, not just to the Democratic Party, but also to the Republicans that Trump won. And, you know, you're, you know, like, think of it back anytime you started a job for the first time. I mean, Trump is not a politician. So when he, it took him a while to get going. And then you got to think junior, like, halfway through his first term, he's thinking about reelection. And so a big majority of your time and effort goes towards the reelection effort. Now he's going into a second term, he's not going to have to think about reelection. He has already been there before. He, he's familiar with the layout of the office. You know, he knows where the bathroom is, he knows where the mail room is. He's going to be able to get stuff done. Right. So I think that the Republican Party has a lot to look forward to because they're going to be able to put a lot through. But at the same time, you have someone like Trump who's already talking about filling his cabinet with people on both sides of the aisle, rfk, people who aren't even in politics, like Elon Musk. So it's interesting. [00:30:41] Speaker C: And he, I'm sure looking back, he's learned something I've been saying for years, when the Republicans have control of everything, they play nice. They're like adults. I mean, they're representing people that have jobs and kids and go to work. They're not vicious and malicious. It's time. And I'm not talking about some of the stuff I've seen on social media about rounding people up and all that stuff. But you know what? It's time to get this country on the right track again or we're in deep trouble. So, I mean, you know, he learned a lot. There was a lot of rhinos, There was a lot of backstabbing. You know, Mitt Romney, I'm not looking at you. So I'm, I'm hoping with rfk, with Elon Musk, I'm hoping that he gets more done. You know, they, he had four years of nothing but protecting himself. He never got anything done because they were on him. They're going to try to do that again, obviously. So if he has control of the House and the Senate, that that will help. But hopefully they're not spineless. I mean, Republican Party needs to step up and be tough and change this country. So we'll see what. Okay, you pulled up a little picture Here Vice presidential age related data. [00:31:54] Speaker D: So by my math, junior JD Vance will be the third youngest vice president at his current age as he's entering the office. Which, you know, this is something that I think, you know, is, is a non partisan issue that the representatives in Washington D.C. are majority much older than the average age or the median age of a United States citizen or a US voter. So getting someone who's 40 years old into the White House I think is, you know, not just a, maybe a positive for the Republican Party because they know, you know, maybe who's up next. Right. But also for anybody who's out there. You know, they were talking about the young vote a lot on election night. You know, he's someone who's younger and maybe, you know, the other side will, will look into younger candidates in the future. [00:32:44] Speaker C: Right? Well, and we talk about the party of the rich old white man. You know, I mean, who did you just put in the people that hate the rich old white man? Joe Biden. I mean, you can't get any more old and rich and white than Joe Biden, can you? So, yeah, no, you're right. The future. You know, I've said to people, and I'm not being funny when I say this, I'm old, I'm not rich, I'm off white, I'm old. I'm not going to be here. You know why I worry about Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, health care, politics, borders, all this stuff for you, Sam, for Anthony, for Nick, for Jay. You're going to have to deal with the ramifications on what we're doing today. You're going to have to fix all this stuff. And by the way, whether Trump is in or Harris stayed in, you know, there's no magic bullet here. You know, Trump cannot erase 35.9 trillion in debt. So if we have time, we'll talk about that because I still have ideas on what's coming even under Trump. But I mean this, to have J.D. vance is a wonderful thing. You want younger blood. I've said for a while, I want Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan is somebody that you talk about going across the aisle and bringing people together. Of course now a lot of people are going to hate him because he went from hating Trump to loving Trump. You know, I mean, so, but I mean, this is a guy that's, you know, how many millions of followers on his podcast. This is a common sense person and he's going to more adequately represent the younger people that are the future of this country. So bring it. I Remember researching Andrew Yang, I remember thinking that the country's so broke and it's on its last leg financially, so we need to look into some fresh ideas. I didn't think his universal basic income was going to work. I didn't think it was going to fly. We're too far down the road of debt and so forth. And you know what? And I was wrong. If we would have shifted all of the money that we gave to Ukraine over the last four years, by the way, Ukraine, oh, man, I even, I'm just now thinking about this. Ukraine is probably very upset. You know, this, this might slow down the old Ukrainian gravy train, this election. So hang on to your, your wallets. So my, I mean, this, this whole thing, you know, Andrew Yang, if we took the money that we gave to Ukraine and we helped out people in this country, if we do certain things financially, we're not done yet. You know, I always go around telling people, I'm not an optimist, I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist. I look at things, I add up numbers. If they don't add up, I question it. I'm not, you know, I mean, everybody thinks I'm so negative. I'm really not. I have been extremely negative short term, believe it or not, I'm extremely optimistic long term. I don't know why, but I think this young nation isn't ready yet to go the way of Rome. I want to get you through this, Sam. I want to get younger generations a chance to have an adulthood. You're like, are you saying I'm not an adult? I guess I was thinking more Anthony, but you know what I'm saying. So Sam pulled up the national debt. US debt clock.org 35979 we are about to hit 36. I imagine by this time next week, we will get to say to you, 36 trillion in debt. So how does that play out, you know, when you look at what's coming with Trump? So Trump is talking about cutting taxes. Trump is talking about growth with different avenues than purely government spending. I love it. I want to hear more. Trump is talking about not taxing tips for people that are servers, you know, casino dealers, people that get tips. I want to see how that's going to play out. We have nothing to lose. I mean, let's try it. He's talking about tariffs to make up for that. If you give somebody an additional, I don't know, 60%, I don't know what people get in tips versus their total salary. Let's say it's half. Let's make the math easy. Let's say you make 50 grand a year and 25,000 of that is from tips. And now you're going to get that without a tax on it, you're going to have more disposable income. You are going to be able to spend more. We are a nation that doesn't make anything at this point. We used to, we, we, we, we print money. You know, we've got a big printing press in the back of the White House. Apparently that's another room. Or we tax people. So with the taxes, let's try it. You know, if you cut taxes, one fear, I have one one way. I'm not sure if it'll end properly. It's less revenue. You know, you can cut spending on the, you know, you can cut spending on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. You cannot cut spending on the interest on the 35.9 trillion in debt. So, you know, I was, I was questioning it. When required minimum distribution, those of you that are 70 and a half or older or 72 or 73 or soon to be 75, you know what I'm talking about. When they raise that age from seventy and a half, I question that. I'm like, we're broke. If anything, eventually you're going to have to bring that age down. You have to go the other way. You are going to have to raise taxes. So, but I'm also, I'm an advocate for a flat tax. I think we need a flat tax. You know, I used to say 10 to 15%. Unfortunately, when you have the debt we have, I'd say 15 to 25% across the board. So if you only make 15 grand a year, I'm sorry, you're going to have to give up your share. If you're Warren Buffett, I'm sorry, you're going to have to give up your share. And then we have a consumption tax. If I buy a pack of gum, I'm going to pay tax on a small item. If I buy a helicopter, I'm going to pay more taxes. So we already have a consumption tax. Let's, let's work on getting a flat tax. I know CPAs, enrolled agents. That's going to cut into your livelihood. And for that I apologize. But for the good of the nation, we need a flat tax. You know, we were in the Bahamas recently. It was a work meeting. Don't worry, there was no vacation. I didn't bring a bathing suit. I'm lying to everybody. Yeah, it was pretty fun. But anyway, in the Bahamas, they have a VAT tax, they have a value added tax. No big deal, 10%. But when you add 10% to the local taxes and then to the gratuities and, I mean, it adds up. So with Trump being in office, we still have the 35 trillion in debt. You know, the tariffs, obviously, on China, we need tariffs. Part of the problem. We have to be careful with China. China, what we learned during COVID they make all our medicines. I mean, we, we are very reliant on China. So we, you know, we have to remember, even though Trump might have bought this country, time to have less intrusion under our Second Amendment, our Fourth Amendment, our First Amendment. Oh, you know, back to the View for a second. Do you know what they said we need? This was on the View Wednesday. Look it up. They said we need censorship of social media. It's like, what. The whole country was built upon our Constitution. You have a right to say things. You have a right to express your opinion. The First Amendment was to protect speech that the women on the View don't care for and vice versa. So that's what they want. You know, Harris, if she stayed in, you know, Rawls, he said, you don't have an absolute right to your freedom of speech. You know, if you say stuff we deem to be misinformation, disinformation, fake news, we should have the right to censor you. You're in the wrong country, buddy. It's like Harris, you know, part of why Harris lost was divine. I mean, I, you know, hate to bring that up under a political. I'm sorry, under a financial show, Freud was like, what did he just say? But, you know, Harris, when you said somebody's at the wrong rally because they, they brought up Christianity, you know, maybe he lost the election because, you know, maybe Trump survived a shooting because of divine. I don't know. I don't know. I just. Everything's adding up to. This is way bigger than. Than me. So anyway, with. With the View, you want less freedom of speech, and yet. Where did you say that on a TV show? Who's going to be in charge of censoring if Elon Musk, who bought Twitter and renamed it X, if he buys Instagram, Twitter, Facebook threads, you know, all these different programs, you're not going to be happy. So be careful for what you wish for. You just automatically assume it's going to be you. You just assume because you have Harris and she has Obama and he has Soros and he has Schwab. And they all have blackrock, Blackstone and Vanguard. You assume that you're in the driver's seat. I'm not sure. I think most people have had enough of the ridiculousness of this country. And I think, you know, outside of the divine intervention, I think people stood up. The people that were afraid to wear a red hat or put out a sign or even like talk to people about who they're going to vote for. I think they're like, you know what, enough and I'll tread lightly on this. I saw one meme on Facebook and I hope this doesn't come across as crude. It said maybe what the other side of the aisle learned is more women in this country buy food and gas than want to have an abortion. It's like, wow. I mean, that's very crude. It's very. That's kind of a little bit in your face. But I mean, really, you know, the hot button, the big, the big girl in the room for the last four years has been abortion. It doesn't affect all of us. It doesn't affect most men. I know I'm making a reference to gender there. It doesn't affect most of us. You know, what does? The safety for my family and my kids, the price of my food and gas. When my son has to ask if he'll no longer be drafted, I mean, that to me, really, really hit me because I was like, holy cow. I mean, holy cow. We are in the most unsafe, unchartered territory this world has ever been in. And I didn't realize my 20 year old son who's focused on becoming a dentist, he's in school and he's working at an Italian restaurant. Thank you, Paul, for hiring my son. This has been a great experience for him. He used to work in retail. He worked at Ross. Not a great experience. He came home with stories all the time. So working for Paul has been very good for him. Anyway, I just, I want our future to be brighter than the direction it was heading. And I think maybe we can still get things back and become more civil. You know, Biden said he was going to unify the country. Remember that? When Biden was new, he was going to bring us back together. These talking ridiculous animals are always talking about transparency. Obama said they're gonna be the most transparent administration in history. It's called projection. When you do something and you've accused the other people of doing it, that's projection. There's been nothing but projection. I'm kind of hoping we can get to where that goes away. A little bit. So we shall see. Are we gonna get law and order back? When you open up the borders for four years and you let, I don't know, 10, 20 million people in and I'm still worried about that. You know, I do still have a lot of worries. Not just up until the 20th of January. I think there's a whole bunch of people in this country and we don't know who they are or where they are. I think we're still very, very likely to find out who they are and where they are in a bad way. So I don't think everything is all sudden okay just because we have a new president. Personally, I've got my articles ready this week as usual and I haven't even looked over to my left where the articles are. [00:44:26] Speaker D: Well, what's it, what's in that stack? Also I'm wondering how late because I heard, you know, Anthony and I, we were texting because he's traveling for that wedding this week. How late did you stay up on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning? [00:44:38] Speaker C: I was at Michael C. And Macy C. Of Sun City's house. I've become quite the resident of their house. I've been asking for a key. So far I haven't gotten it because I think they think I'm serious and obviously I am. So anyway they, they had a little watch party. It was a very small gathering. Shout out real quick to Donna. We, we had dinner at a place called Native. We had Wings. It was a beautiful night. Went over there. They have a pub. You want to know why I need a key? They have a pub. They have kegs of beer. Currently I believe it is Miller Light and Guinness. So you know, it's kind of like having Biden on one side and Trump on the other. They have Guinness. So we, we had a, we had a couple adult beverages. I mean they did. I would never because I was getting ready for the show on Tuesday night. But yeah, I was there until I guess it was like 2 or 3 in the morning. And then I continued the watch party until five in the morning over at my house. Sandy got mad. Sandy heard the activity and she closed the door and let me know she was closing the door. So yeah, it went to about five in the morning. But four years ago I didn't have an all night watch party and when I woke up the vote was different than when I went to bed and I was kind of surprised. So this time I thought I'm going to be glued to the tv. Other than the roughly three minutes to get from Michael C's house to my home. Yeah, I wanted to see what was going on. And this time, of course, it didn't change. Oh, you know, little known fact for you, Sam, my ballot in 2020 did not count. It was the first election Jay could vote in, and Jay voted. We helped him a little bit. We talked to him about the pros and cons of who he could vote for. But Jay voted, Sandy voted, I voted. We signed him, we dated him, we sealed them, we double checked him. I got in my car. I'm not going to put anything in the mail. Got my car, drove to the Peoria City complex. There's some bulletproof glass. I got as close as that, and then I had to hand a woman the ballots, the three ballots. She wouldn't let me put them in the metal box because then I would have to go into her little room. So. But I saw him go in the box. And then I waited the week or whatever it is, and I checked our ballots. Sandy's counted, Jay's counted. Mine did not. So I started asking people about that. There's like, there's really nothing you can do. I mean, you can't prove that, you know, that you, you know, maybe you only gave them the two. I'm like, no, I gave them the three. But anyway, there was nothing I could do about it. Fast forward a couple years ago to the midterms, same thing. Sandy counted, Jay counted. I did not count. So this time, obviously, you know what I'm waiting for. I took a screenshot of all three ballots. Signed, dated, sealed. I decided Peoria was unethical. The city of Peoria. I decided the entire city of Peoria, Arizona was crooked. So I drove to Young Town. Have you ever heard of that, Sam? There's a city next to Sun City called Young Town. And some of my experience at the city complex there, they're not so young. So false advertising. I screaming fake news because all the people I was near made me feel young. And I am not a spring chicken. I have chicken legs, but I'm no spring chicken. Anyway, so this time I get into the Young Town complex, and there's a big box right inside the door. Big, huge box with, like zip ties on it. Like they had to handcuff the box. And I got to put all three ballots in the box myself. I looked at the box, I stared at the box, you know, make sure the box knows I'm watching it. I did that thing with my fingers, like I'm watching you box. And then I left, went home and I waited. I waited. I waited one week and I went online and I plugged in the last four on my social and I plugged in my date of birth and my name. There I was. So that was a really long story for something who gives a crap about. So, anyway, all three of my household ballots counted this time. [00:48:30] Speaker D: Thank you, J.R. for finally doing your civic duty and voting. [00:48:33] Speaker C: Well, I wouldn't have, but I got some texts, saw some commercials, even had a few phone calls. And I. Hey, you know what amazes me, too? My family, like most, we're registered. I mean, you know, whoever gets the lists can see. But I got a lot of people from the other side of the aisle that apparently thought a text would make me change my. My direction of vote. So, you know, thank goodness these commercials are over. One observation. Some of the commercials I saw this year in Espanol, so I don't know if that's that way in Georgia, but Arizona was courting a different demographic than years past. [00:49:11] Speaker D: Yeah, a couple observations on the commercials. A lot more of both sides of the aisle saying the exact same thing and then also saying the exact opposite thing in other situations. Very confusing. Also, thank. Yes, thank you so much that the. There's no runoff or anything and that the election commercials are over because we've dealt with that in Georgia the last two times where it's. You just get it all the way through the holidays and into January. But my wife and I noticed just yesterday, because, you know, we're recording this on Thursday and Wednesday was the first day without the election that they went immediately from campaign commercials to Christmas shopping commercials immediately. [00:49:57] Speaker C: We are a consumer nation, remember? We don't make anything. We just print money or tax people and the consumer does the rest. [00:50:04] Speaker D: That's right. That's right. [00:50:06] Speaker C: I mean, what a relief. It sucks. I mean, I'm sitting there and I'm not a TV guy. Just the limited time I'll sit in front of that idiot box. I had to have my thumb on the mute button. I'm like, you're like, I have to do the same thing because of your dogs. That is true, Sam Davis. So, yeah, no, I'm glad there's no runoff, too. In other news, I guess this was the election special. I didn't want to talk about anything other than Fred and Peter, but we hit that election, too. So a couple other things financially. So the big, huge run up in the market on Wednesday, Everybody's, you know, FOMO, fear of missing out. I am 180°. I want to fundamentally transform the Financial markets. I kept thinking, this market is so manipulated. The dow is only 30 companies. The S&P 500's floated by 7. This is all a house of cards. I hope a lot of people that listen to us that day, I hope they went a little safer on their 401k. I'm not giving you specific guidance and instruction and recommendations. I just hope in general you're watching your stuff because I don't care who's the president. Nothing goes straight up in the air and nothing goes straight down. So I hope you took advantage of buying or I'm sorry, I'm selling a little bit that day. Capture some of your gains. I understand the psychology of Las Vegas. So gold and silver tanked, you know, I mean, on the other side of that coin, part of the pun, I hope a bunch of people bought some gold and silver that day because already today, things are smoothing out one day after the big, huge, volatile market today. I know I've said this before. Today is the 7th of November. I'm waiting for Jerome Powell. Today's the big. Are we going to have a rate cut? You know, it's baked in that. It's going to be 25, you know, 25 basis points. Could it be 50? Who cares? You know, you know what, Jerome? You lost all control and Trump kept you on, you know, I think you're gone this time. Janet Yellen, my very favorite Janet Yellen. You're gone. You're not going to be the secretary, treasury secretary. You're out. So we'll see what happened. Oh, they did lower. So they, Sam said they just lowered the rates by 0.25%. Okay, you know what? You guys have lost all control and credibility. You know that I'm sure you lowered rates, what, I don't know, like six weeks ago you lowered them a half a percent and yet the market seemed to go up by a percent a quarter. The market, the bond market had a wild day the last couple of days. I don't think the government has control of these rates in the market at all. We'll see what happens under Trump. But I think there's going to be a lot of financial change coming up soon. So make sure you reach out to us and we will be a second opinion. One of the good things about us, we believe in diversification, moderation. We think you should pay down debt. We love Dave Ramsey on that part of his world. We think you should buy hard assets. I'm still going to tell you to have some extra food and water. Trump being in office did not sway me at all from thinking this world is really, really three days away from weirdness with toilet paper, you know, canned chicken, peanut butter and honey. So we have a lot to go over with you still, even though there's a new political day, I'm going to miss Janet Yellen. I think I need to look for a bunch of articles over the next 10 weeks on Janet Yellen so I can get my fill in because that'll be my biggest regret for the changes. With that said, is it time? Are you nodding up and down because it's time for me to take us away. I need Anthony here. I'm not the taker away or I'm not the bring us inner that was. I had to write down what he says today to bring us in. So I hope today was okay for you. As always, we value you and we're so glad you're there listening to us. Thank you very much.
